Volunteers can be involved with gardening tasks, designing new areas of garden development, planning and running events. We are always keen to build on volunteer’s interests, skills and experience and therefore encourage suggestions and ideas and volunteers from all walks of life.

Join us in the garden for an in-depth prowl around the bug life we commonly come across in the garden.  Learn a little more about their life cycles, what role they play in the Big wild Garden and how to encourage them.  They all have a really important role to play.  It's a fun, free, informal workshop.  All welcome.

The last Thursday of every month we hold open to all garden days where everyone (16+) is welcome to come and help us out building features for Dudhope Gardens. This involves; building large musical instruments, raised planters, and sculptures; planting trees, fruit bushes and wildflower seeds; maintaining our existing features and keeping log of the wildlife that visits our garden.

Drop in for a chat about volunteering and together we can imagine how to use your unique skills to contribute to our wildlife friendly space.

Join Manuela to learn about and make different types of signs and labels. She will cover some basics on how to engage with visitors to your garden and connect them with nature and stories from wildlife and food. You will also be able to test your hand at making one for your garden and/or designing a thematic trail for your own garden.

We are delighted to host our first moving screening! We will watch “Six Inches of Soil”, documentary highlighting the work farmers, communities and individuals who wants to act for a better tomorrow.  We will share homemade food and exchange ideas with a few experienced professionals.

Please come along and see our little community garden in the heart  of Ardler.  We are nestled between the Ardler Complex and the NHS building,  just up from the Macmillan Cafe. We will have seedlings for sale, and the opportunity to plant your own seeds using our fantastic Discovery compost. Come and meet some of our friendly volunteers and find out what we're all about and volunteer opportunities.

As a volunteer with the Ardler Community Garden you can help with weeding beds, planting new plants and harvesting produce both for the gardens and for sharing with the local Macmillan cafe. More experienced gardeners share their knowledge with the rest of the group who are keen to learn.
