Digital Gardener at Ninewells

Where?

This volunteer role is intended to support the creation of specific digital tools within the Ninewells Community Garden and is expected to involve:

• Liaising with staff on project requirements and specifics to ensure that content and methods meet existing quality criteria.

• The creation of garden activities which can be accessed online.

• The creation of trails and information which can be accessed digitally within the garden.

• Updating staff and trustees on progress through presentations at board meetings.

• Working with other garden volunteers on content creation and information.

• Other activities which would support this work.

It is expected that this role will be shared amongst a number of volunteers who will form the basis of a small team working collaboratively.

Experience required

• An excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, the creation of QR codes or WordPress is essential, along with suitable IT equipment to enable access to online accounts and documents.

• An enthusiasm for community gardening would be advantageous.

• A willingness to work as part of a wider team of volunteers is essential.

Travel details

Home-based with some visits to Ninewells Community Garden.

Travel expenses

We do not routinely reimburse travel expenses but may be able to dependent on individual need.

Support

Training details

• An initial induction will be given to all new volunteers

• Additional training and support is available depending on need.

• It is expected that volunteers will identify any support needs required.

• We offer regular volunteer meetings to provide an opportunity to give feedback and contribute ideas.

Frequency & commitment

To be arranged but ideally at least 2 hours across the week. Any visits to the garden would need to be done during facilitated hours unless otherwise negotiated. It is expected that this project take approximately 6 months to complete once started.
